The planned British Airways strikes are likely to disrupt the holiday plans of almost 1 million passengers.
The strikes, which could last for 12 days, are due to a potential two-year pay freeze and a reduction of staff on long haul flights etc.

Over 900 climate change campaigners have been arrested during protests at the Copenhagen summit.
The violence broke out when tens of thousands of people marched with signs saying ‘Save the humans’ but a group of protesters began to throw bricks at the police.
Police have been accused of overreacting to ‘sporadic street violence’ by using ‘kettling’ methods to detain protesters, similar to those during the G20 protests in April.

Just as FiX predicted, the Turner Prize was won today by Richard Wright.
His gold leaf fresco was a favourite of many visitors to the exhibition and the judges said they “admired the profound originality and beauty of Wright’s work”.
He was awarded the £25,000 prize and the runner up artists each received £5,000. The exhibition will be on display until January 3rd next year at the Tate Britain.

Amanda Knox and on-off boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito have both received guilty verdicts for the murder of English student Meredith Kercher.
The Leeds University student had been spending a year at Perugia’s university for foreigners where she was found murdered on 2nd November 2007.
Knox has received 26 years for murder and several other offences while Sollecito has received 25 years after two years of trials.

]]>Fans of Sarah Palin struggled to come up with reasons for their support when interviewed by ‘New Left Media’. The supporters were queuing up outside a Borders bookstore in Ohio waiting during Palin’s book signing tour and fans showed strong support for her but in very vague terms such as ‘real’ etc. One fan even agrees with Palin’s suggestion that Russia is a neighbouring country to the state of Alaska.

The Government says that funds will be drawn away from institutions who fail to meet targets and to boost courses that “meet strategic skills needs”.

The UK is “ready” to send more troops to Afghanistan, said foreign secretary David Miliband on Monday night.
