Protest at BBC
Protesters have been gathering all day as leader of the BNP, Nick Griffin, prepares to sit on the panel on the BBC’s Question Time.
Earlier on a small group managed to break through a police cordon, although they were quickly brought under control by police, having assembled a 50 strong team of officers as well as a police helicopter.
The decision by the BBC to allow the far right leader to appear on Question Time has been met with outcry by many anti fascist movements, but director general of the BBC, Mark Thompson, has strongly defended his actions.
